Nice!

Must be refreshingly cool there. Just came inside from the pool where the temp is a balmy 102 (and it's 23:00!)

Evidently Scottsdale is a bit worse. Our eldest daughter has informed us it's going to be "boil-your-face-off hot" there in a day or so (about 120).

Our forecast doesn't go that high but from experience I can tell you that you can't tell the difference once the temp gets much above 105 or so. Sky Harbor used to shut down at 120 but planes are built better now :)

Dipped down into the 60s yesterday, so about half the Az expected high. :ack

The range here in P.S. is 114 - 120 for the next week or so. Low this morning at 5:30 was 82. Temp went from 100 to 108 in the last hour. Hades hot.

It's so damn hot here in AZ. If you walk outside in your bare feet, Tony Robbins will come by and give you a certificate!:lol

Yep, Same in Vegas. I went barefoot to the mail box and about 2/3 of the way there was beginning to think it was a mistake. Too far to turn back so I went, checked the box (it was empty) and ran back to the house. Feet still tender.

'Daughter just emailed a photo of the 'outside' temperature reading shown on the dash of her car..................................120 degrees.

That's only because that's as high as the thermometer went. The news here tonight had the annual "fry an egg" on the sidewalk. The inside thermometer on their car pegged at 140, but the infrared thermometer read 160. Dash surface temp was 190 something. Water didn't boil, but cookies baked. Oh, that was at about 11AM before the temp got to 117.

DO NOT LEAVE KIDS OR PETS IN THE CAR! Even with the windows down or the engine running with A/C on. S*** happens.

On a lighter side, the weather guy here ended his forecast session with his observation that echoes mine: I'd rather have a temperature of 117 than shovel snow at -10. Any day of the week!!!!

^^^ Y'all better kiss your home and car a/c units and thank 'em for their dedication to duty in severely adverse conditions!

And hug the service guys that show up within two hours after you call them. That was another thing they said - the service guys are working overtime! (And loving it!) We replaced one of our A/C units last year in similar heat conditions. We had to in 1978 too when we lived in Phoenix. I was out of town and my wife didn't trust having a contractor come in so she got through the heat and put wet wash cloths on her and the cats !
