I stopped by the 'Calgary International Auto & Truck Show' today to see a new GT in the flesh. The car is much more impressive in person and looks great in silver and black.

No. If they add AC, we're gonna have a problem. :lol

Competition series in silver and black with red calipers. That is the way to go. No AC needed.

The race cars have AC, don't they? Ford is marketing the Comp series as the closest thing to the Le Mans winning race car. I just want it to be a little closer, with the AC. :lol

AC is mandatory, right? Thought I heard them say that during one of the races but I'm not sure for which class.

I don't think the rules require A/C, but there is a max temp rule which effectively requires A/C for closed cars.

I don't think the rules require A/C, but there is a max temp rule which effectively requires A/C for closed cars.

This is from 14.6 of the FIA rule book:

An effective ventilation and/or air conditioning system must:
• Maintain the temperature around the driver when the car is
in motion :
1. at 32°C maximum when the external temperature (*) is
less than or equal to 32°C,
2. at a temperature less than or equal to external
temperature (*) if it is above 32°C;
• Get the temperature back down to the value defined above
(case 1 or 2) in 8 minutes maximum after a car stop.

So while it doesn't specifically say air conditioning, I think this is the only other solution:
