interesting...

dave?

This one died rather speedy??

would make no sense for ford to put that in print in the manual if did not mean something cant deny that one and if they want to hang with McLaren and Ferrari a track version would only make sense at some point sure its faster then 675LT around the track but don't think it will beat new 720S let alone a track version of the 720s

Isn't the "Competition Series" just what it's called if you spec it without the air conditioning and radio? Looks like you get a few other differences with the car, too.

I hope I'm not going to be sorry I have an early order window.

I'm hoping the Competition Series will be available with the manual A/C referenced in the owners manual. I'm still trying to figure out the logic of two sets of A/C controls. I've seen nothing to suggest different interior content packages for the regular cars beyond material selections. Seems unlikely there is an "econo" interior package with manual A/C for the regular cars, but I can't be sure.

The manual had no disclaimers or references to a supplement regarding a "Competition Series." I think this means it's not a serial number-only track special, but a street legal package. Also, despite what the Web is speculating, I would bet these cars are included in, not in addition to, the planned production run.

The latches look like the ones to open the ordering kit.

If memory serves correct this is the competition car.

Other than the single stripe, I can't identify any differences from the front. I think I like the single stripe better.

It looks like there might be some kind of gunmetal-esque finish on the carbon wheels. Perhaps the Competition Series comes with more aggressive brake pads that create more dust, so they wanted a flat looking wheel finish to make the brake dust less noticeable?

Looks like Titanium Exhaust, manual engine latch, lexan rear window hatch with extra venting, grey finish on the wheels and a solid, bare carbon stripe. Wonder what else is (or isn't) included?

I wonder if that is actually the carbon fiber bodywork, unpainted, just with clear over it, or if it is some kind of decal/overlay.

Nice pictures Otis. Love the carbon stripe.

That is the carbon bodywork you're seeing.

The answer regarding the air conditioning was staring me in the face.
No AC button for the manual climate control:

I'm in love. Where did this photo come from? Are there more?

The photo was posted by Marino Franchitti on instagram a couple months back and was quickly deleted. I tried to post this pic on here yesterday, but I could not figure out how to post it.
