Alberta has plenty of oil, nice roads and great skiing. But the length of our winter does test the patience of car enthusiasts.
I thought I would share a nice pic of a morning this winter were I could no longer wait. It was -25 degrees Celcius (so not too bad).

Wishing you all an imminent Spring and a long, great Summer.

PS - yes, there are 3 miles of gravel to suffer through before pavement :frown

Holy cow! You are a brave man. Those tires have to practically turn to stone at those temperatures.

Actually you would be surprised how well the GY's work on ice and snow. Judicious use of the right foot is REQUIRED!

Yeah I just meant for the gravel. 6 miles worth of gravel on every ride. Oy vey.

I've made a pass at the drag strip in the low 30s on Goodyears. :lol

Beautiful prairie scene-and the car looks nice too. Reminds me of where I grew up on the outskirts of Winnipeg. Of course we didn't get the Chinook winds like you have in southern Alberta that warm things up to -25C. I assume your first trip after buying the car was to your local protective film installer.

Amen. It kills me evey time and usually doubles the time required for any trip.
I have been thinking about buying some farm land along the highway, just to build a garage, but then I wouldn't be able to look at it while enjoying a beer just before going to bed.

Gravel up North is a killer. Had to take a 30 minute detour, just east of Calgary, due to an really horrible accident on Canada 1. 100% pea gravel farm roads. Going as slow as I could, it still sounded like a machine gun hitting the under trays! Rattled around forever. When I got back to Seattle went in for an oil change. Gravel nearly filled a 3# coffee can. Not fun.

Beautiful picture. I live next door in Saskatchewan, also have 3 miles of gravel from my house to pavement and have a black GT.
Love the colour when it is clean unfortunately it is dusty before it even gets to the road. Never thought of taking it out in the winter.
How's the heater?

I am too chicken to take mine out until the temps are closer to 20c and the roads are cleared of abrasive/stones. More importantly, you have been a member for almost 10 years and have only made 8 posts???

Where are you located? I am in the Priddis/Millarville area.
