After a 2 year restoration, followed by 1 year of pretty great ownership and fettling, RM Sotheby's agreed to offer my '67 E type at Scottsdale this year. Thought an FGT owner might want to add to the toy box.

A couple shots -

Ha! Great to know. Yes, the madness starts early, ends late.

A little info about the car for the auction bound, or just merely curious. The story behind the story...

Looks amazing. Curious, why the relatively costly auction route vs private sale?

Thanks for the compliment.

I chose the auction because I've never done it. Kinda wanted the adventure/experience and to a degree, the 'finality' of it if that makes sense.

Have sold many, many cars over the years doing the private route, met a ton of great people (including selling my FGT to Tomcat here) but - and I'm actually working out this answer as I write - something about 8,000 questions per inquiry on a car like this seemed less attractive. I'm paying to have that lifted from me.

Thank you so much. Appreciate that you read the whole thing! Agree there's just something about these 60's icons, with all that racing heritage. Yes, you FGT guys know just a bit about that!

Here's the link to the Sotheby's listing...

And the story on the car...

She lives right next to my GT & Aventador & sometimes my 60 Caddy Eldorado. They're all friends:biggrin

A bit of irony here as I sold my 65 Jag to get a 512 BBi which was Adams old car. Now I'm thinking of parting with it to get a FGT. Some sort of wierd circle of sorts.

I have 3 e types. 1966 in the middle of a restoration. 1970 almost done and a 1972 V12 that is my driver. The 72 has the largest cabin so its the one I fit in and drive.

I didn't realize so many FGT folks were into Jags. My '62 E-Type JCNA 100 pointer!
