Are transmission parts available. I was told by the dealer that transmission parts are not available and the only way to fix a transmission is to replace it.

Since you don't have a location with your avatar, we can't tell where you're at and who might be available for help. You need to talk to the GT Guys first and confirm the problem. IF you need a new transmission, X2 Builders in IL may have one. You can find them on eBay or send me a PM.

I needed transmissions parts and couldn't find any, so I ended up buying a used trans from X2 builders for 30K

I think M2K was working on reproducing parts... much stronger, more expensive parts. Then there is another cat out of Florida (whose name shall not be spoken) that has fabricated some stuff. What are you looking for?

Depending on what it needs I would think someone like Taylor Race Engineering in Plano Tx could repair/reproduce parts if they had the gearbox in their shop
I have three transmission in stock, like new with delivery miles (ex Matech stock). Maybe interesting for European GT owners, as I am in Berlin. There is a bearing problem, once you take the housing appart. Bearing will be destroyed and there is currently no direct, fitting alternative which can be delivered. But I am working on a fix...
