A dealer/neighbor who deals mainly in Porsches and sometimes BMW's said he just bought a 4,000 mile, one owner clean Carfax, all records included, gorgeous silver car (haven't even seen a picture yet) much less the car. It's in transport. These cars have litterally spiked in value over the last couple years. Is this a bubble too or are they worth buying as an investment? He suggested not driving it and putting it up on a lift. Hate that thought but I like to make a buck too. Anyone out there with some Porsche advice?

Those are very nice cars, but at the price he will likely want for it, you'd be taking a big risk in my opinion.

I am a big porsche watcher. They have skyrocketed in value. No one can predict where they are going but I am a seller at these levels not a buyer.

I had an opportunity in late '13 to get a 97 993TT at 85k. Cars are now around or above $200k ask. Instead I got a NA 997 GT3 RS, probably the last of the stick 911 variants.

I think they are increasing in price because of low inventory (for quality ones) and high demand. I suspect the high demand is due to the attraction of the manual gear box, last of the air cooled engines and very few (if any) electronic nannies galore.

The run up in price for both the 993 and 964 is amazing. Great cars with the 993 handling a little better than the 964. As mentioned above, air cooled and no nannies are very attractive especially for the 3 pedal as well as the "tiptronic" variant.

Was recently offered surprising money for my '92 C-2 Cab, GPW/Navy. A car we bought new in '92 and has been well cared for all these years. A recent first place winner at last years Porsche Parade in the "Preservation Class" for '89-'98 model years.

I am quick to want to look at anything because you might miss a deal. The best deals sell fast. The 993 Turbo has almost tripled in two to three years. Parabolic spikes don't last forever

I recently sold my '94 Turbo due to the prices going nutty. Who knows?! Maybe they will continue, but I'm a seller here.

I love the 993TT. I wish I had bought one when I was serious about 5 years ago. Could have scooped up a perfect car for less than $100k.
