Amazing, I feel exactly the same...
Here is my Hot Wheels Mark IV from when I was a kid. We used to have races between all the kids that had Hot Wheels and I don't ever remember losing a race with this GT. 20150215_175426.jpg

I still have the Sizzler Boss and Indy car from later on when they introduced those too.

Good stuff.

I'm sure a lot of us have models like this around somewhere. Runs in the genes I guess. I'll have to go looking for my models. When they start making the new one, we can display trios.

I wonder how many people in the world will have the opportunity and where-with-all to assemble a trio of the real things. Wouldn't that be something to see in your garage?

How the hell did you keep that stuff is what I want to know?

I only lived in two houses from infant to 20. And I have no clue but all my good toys are gone.

Well, Like I said in my first book, It all started when I was a kid, with my AROURA slot car set..............
Joe/Apollo and all the rest, look closely in my pit box........ "ONE slot is empty"
Billy Brown was one of my best friends since a kid, always loved my Camaro, tweeked with a hop up kit , sponge rear tires, longer guide pin , mean green motor windings the whole nine yards.
We raced for ever with these cars. Of course my GT always won, it was lower to the ground.
Well 2 years ago in march he was 51 years old and died of the WORST DISEASE know to man. Lou Gerhigs Disease.
I made him a promise before they closed the lid, that I would put that Camaro in his suit pocket, and I did!
Ride on my friend , I miss you.
We lived 3 miles from the Aroura plant on Long Island..........FEAST YOUR EYES BOYS! ALL NEVER RUN !
P.S. Bill Ford had the same red with white FORD GT!

Maybe it's just me, but a gas nozzle unattended scares me. I always have a grip on itl.

I lived in a single house through age 18. My toys were completely used up when I was finished with them, nothing to be saved. I expect my GT will suffer the same fate.. someday. :lol

I had a dark blue Cox .049 GT40. Every time I started it it went full speed into a curb. That was in 66-67.
