I find it interesting that so many of the early images are of stripe free cars. Old Shelby's virtually always had hood and side stripes. I saw a 67 GT500 without either and it was a rare beast. I wonder if the popularity of the GTs w/o stripes has caused Ford to consider the current cars status?

The only original Shelbys that came with over the top "LeMans" stripes were 65'-66'. Everything after that was owner added

But weren't those top stripes unlike the Lemans stripes? 2 little skinny dudes way out at the sides?

I don't want to get in big argument over stripes. :cheers I guess I always believed they all came with stripes until I was informed most were added after the fact.

70's are awesome by the way. I love them all but 68's. Just can't get past the nose fiberglass on those.

They definitely want to put a little distance from the more vintage aesthetic.

1969-70
Around 789 Shelbys were unsold in 1969. These cars were "updated" and sold as 1970 models by changing the VIN showing 1970 as the model year. Changes to the '70 also included twin black hood stripes and a Boss 302 type chin spoiler.

I agree with everybody. Love the top stripes and the side stripes. Don't care much for the '68 nose either. I do understand the desire to breakaway, just a bit, for the new car. However, on a positive note. I have a VIN# and a build date for the 2015 GT350. 7/20 Can't wait!!

The Rallye stripes were the side stripes, no? On the SAAC forum is is widely accepted that post 66' no over the top Lemans type stripes came from the factory,

I have a 1968 GT 350. White with blue side stripes only. BTW, 68 has always been my favorite year.

BTW, anyone know why the Track Package/60T exclusively (non R) has the aluminum tower brace and the oil, tranny & differential coolers? Will any of these be available al a cart for the Tech Package /67T?

IIRIC, only the Track Pack and R cars have the coolers because they are track-focused cars; while the Base 350 and Tech Package are for those who will never track their cars; and will never need the benefits of the cooler.

If you plan on tracking your car at all (and are beyond the abilities of an amateur); get the Track Package or an R.

Call Rick Boyer or Phillip Snapp? I can think of a lot of things to call them.

Since you are car salesmen, maybe you should think about building your customer base. Oh snap, I forgot, you don't have any.
