Steering wheel badge decal?

Can someone point me to a decal or appliqué to cover my ugly corroded badge?

I don't want to go the air bag removal route for a replacement badge.

I was looking through the white racing letter tire thread and Luke warm water pointed this site out. Anyways I saw this.

Shelby can obviously chime in but here's the link to his past effort:

Also, Ed Sims was kind enough to develop a sticker and send many out, not sure if he has any left (see post #34):

Those are both better options in my opinion. I really like the second one.

Vince...that's pretty cool. But...just to demonstrate how anal I am, I wish it didn't have the periods after G and T. haha.

Exactly the reason why I did'nt purchase one. Nothing anal about it. Did you see the Ed Sims one KJD suggested. That I like.

Wow...both of those are nice. I like the color in Ed's.

I highly recommend sending the complete airbag to Shelby to have the emblem redone. It is an easy removal/replacement but the finished product is OUTSTANDING!

I agree!! Shelby refinishes the clear that is peeling. He has done several for me. They look better than a new airbag and is a permanent fix to the problem. Keith

Would love to send mine to Shelby. I believe it would be a huge hassle at the border. I will probably look into buying a new one, unless Shelby would reveil his secret. Lol

$500 for a new airbag or $200 for a Shelby refinish? :thumbsup Easy choice. Only downside is the corrosion on the raised parts in the letters and the curved part around the perimeter will remain. Not $300 noticeable though, and mine was bad.

Ed's stickers are cool too!

That's after Shelby's fix.

I have Shelby's 1st solution - decal. As I still don't have a problem - knock on wood - I'll send it to anyone who wants it - I'll eat the price. If I ever have a problem, I'll send my complete button system (during the winter - of course) to Shelby for a complete redo of the horn button. Until then, it seems the high altitude (low oxygen level) seems to keep things in good shape..!

FENZO's button was the worst one we have seen. We were not even sure we were going to be able to fix it, but it turned out pretty good considering how bad it actually was. Also, many others have had corrosion on the raised letters and we were able to get it out. This is the only case so far that I can recall that it didnt come out 100%. I think his corrosion was so deep that if we went any deeper we would have sanded into the lettering. Every other one we have done has turned out perfect with zero flaws once refinished. Many people on here will attest to this.

i have no doubt that your repair is top notch. the issue will be shipping an explosive over the border. i am not sure how to make it work without being buried in paperwork/red tape.
