Welcome. Makes me feel like a 16 year old. I was thinking today that if I was 16 and had a choice between s** and the GT. Didn't make a decision since I got distracted with the Octane Heritage magazine. Car Porn :)

Welcome. Not to be political, but I'm reminded of President Reagan's quip that he would not exploit his opponent's youth & inexperience!

I'm very familiar with the XJ13 and with some of the replicas (as are at least two other forum members). Which replica did you build?

No, that was a photo of me on the slalom course at last years Roar and Soar event at the Fantasy of Flight complex in Lakeland FL. The P-51 in the background belongs to the chap who owns the facility, Mr. Kermit Meeks. It is a P-51B and is painted up in the colors of the Tuskeegee Airman squadron, the 'Red Tails." If you are a WWII and vintage airplane buff this is a "must see" facility if you are ever in Florida. Here is anothe picture of me with my Lotus and a Folker Tri-plane in the background. I call it "The Red Baron meets "The Red Baron."

I built an XJ13 in conjunction with Predator Performance of Largo, FL. It took first in its class two years in a row with the Jaguar Clubs of North America. I sold the car in 2006. It has been on the block at several auctions over the years but I lost track of it and have no idea where it now is. Here are some links that you may find interesting.

Great pictures RB and glad to have you aboard. I'm sure we can learn from your knowledge and experience with Ford Motor Co.. You will enjoy this GT Forum with great people enjoying the ownership of the GT world. Nice to have you join us. Not everyone on board is young in age and there are a lot of us with arrows in our backs and have been around a couple of times, you'll see. Welcome.

Although I aquired my 2005 FGT in August of 2011, for Forum purposes I just recently made the transition from "Spectator" to "Owner." I probably fall substantially out side the boundries of the age demographics for GT owners since I will be 82 this comming Cinco de Mayo.

82 and rock'n 200mph cars?!?! You're my new idol. I hope I'm chasing you on the highway when I'm 82. Welcome.

Welcome Red Baron. Finally, someone older than Ralphie.

Glad to have you aboard, Red Baron. I'm sure that we have more than age in common. I look forward to meeting you, as I always feel I have a lot to learn.

By the way, Frank's a friend and likes to use me for fun.

:cheers

Welcome RB... Like the Lotus 7! Seen a few hanging around VIR on vintage race day up here..

Also saw that Jim Szilagyi who I beleive is Alex's (MR2RACE) brother built one also.... and don't pay attention to Doc Frank and just hope you never need him.....

Welcome RB! Your Super 7 a Caterham? I have a R500 Superlight Caterham Super 7. Most fun you can have with your clothes on. Your outlook and vitality is refreshing. Based on your story, at age 51, I should have at least 30 more years of motoring fun with my GT's.

looks like OP's unexpected 5 year thread revival may have been a "pocket-dial"?

I have no idea how this 4 year old posting of mine reared it's ugly head. Believe me I am not seeking any notoriety. As long as I am on the screen I will give a brief update. I still drive my 2005 FGT on a regular basis. I had it at Sebring on March 4 for an SVRA event and drove some 8 "parade" laps. The car now has some 16,000 miles on the clock, 7,000 from previous owners and 9,000 by me. I had a pulley, tune, Borla muffler and general service done by the GT Guys in 2013. Oh, and by the way, I will be 87 on Cinco de Mayo this year
