Camillo: I met you at the Carlise Ford nationals. It was great to met you and really enjoyed having dinner with you and GT Joey and the rest of the guys.

Kudos to you. You should be proud for designing one of the worlds greatest cars and a car that has become an automotive icon in its own time. Such cars are far and few between.

:thumbsup

Great and sincere answers.
Camillo Fantastic job all the way around. Owning a very accurate recreation of the 68/69 Gulf GT40 you car is very true to the heritage of the former. To be honest until I actually got a drive in the Ford GT I had no intention what so ever of buying one. So I bought 2 instead. :)
Thanks to all involved. Keep the questions and answers coming.

Merry Christmas to all,

Oh man, I just thought of a great one for Camilo.

Of all the models that 'contributed' to his artistic vision of the GT. Is there one that stands out as the most and could we get her name and/or a few pix?

Nowhere else is it possible to have a discussion with the people directly involved with creating a supercar like the Ford GT. Other makers are half way around the world and speak a different language! (if they are even still alive).

We are all very lucky to have such access to these people through DBK and the forum.

Thank you DBK, Camilo and those who will follow.

What a great group of owners we have:thumbsup

Getting these insights really helps to infuse a "soul" into our otherwise inanimate automobiles. Thanks for the idea Dave, and thanks Camilo for your viewpoint and sharing a piece of history.

I have a new (to me) question;

Why was the faux wing window added? Is the strut a structural component? The prototype show car did not have one. I would have guessed it adds drag.

I would also guess there wasn't a huge cost savings by making the movable section smaller.
