Lamborghini vs. GT

I'd like to hear from members who own a GT and also own or have owned lamborghini's to hear how they compare the two cars. Personally I think the GT feels faster than either the murci or the gallardo and is much easier to drive fast than either car. I won't compare my 6.0 to a GT but would like to know how you guys compare the cars.

Abolfaz, I had a Murcielago and it would be very hard to say which felt faster, I think the GT is at least as fast and, as you say, is easier to drive - the engine is less stressed for a start.

The Murcielago may be quicker in the corners given its AWD and traction control, it's also stiffer, the GT has more body roll. It felt that you could push the Murcielago a little harder in the corners as the grip was so good. I have not pushed the GT as hard, so I'm not sure I'm totally qualified to compare handling just yet. I do know that the GT wallows a bit on high speed corners - it's not unsettled at all, but you can feel it.

I liked the Murcielago a lot, but if I'm honest, I always felt a bit of an idiot driving it - it was so 'loud' looking, although beautiful. The GT is a car you can get out of with some pride, it has a real heritage to it's look, one that resonates with everyone.

The Murcielago was 'snappy' quick (if you know what I mean), quite fierce, the GT feels more like the hand of God pressing you along and you feel that you'll never run out of power. Much smoother. The GT gearbox is, basically, car pornograhpy of the highest order - just wonderful.

They are roughly the same price in the UK and I'd go for the GT every time, it feels better built too.

W. Mitty did a detailed comparison a while back when he sold his GT and went to a gallardo.

It's posted somewhere on this board...

I can tell you that I find it easier to drive the GT fast compared to the 6.0 and murci that I have owned. Not to mention that I'm 100% comfortable in the GT where I was never comfortable in the lamborghini's. I also find the GT much quicker than the Lambo's.

I always found myself making excuses for the lambos shortcomings, weird pedal placement, seats that were canted inwards, steering wheel that seemed like it wasn't in the right place, poor visability, etc... The GT seems to do all these things right, with no excuses and its VERY easy to get in and out of with a ride to boot, heck its actually comfortable!

I have tracked the Gallardo (with e-gear) and the Murcielago multiple times and I own a GT (not tracked). I have to say, I like the gallardo more than the Murcielago--feels lighter (though still much heavier than a stradale). The egear and 4 wheel drive make it easy to drive fast. Solid and predictable. On most tracks it seems that whatever it might lose on the straights to the Murcielago, it got back in turns and braking. At Pocono, the real power of the Murcielago shines, but not many tracks have the big banking...at others, I would vote Gallardo and pocket a few dollars.

The GT is definitely faster and more comfortable, and as already stated less "in your face" though still eye candy.

Nice trio of cars -- albeit all three suffering from 'can't see behind syndrome'--also worth noting that the used gallardo's are starting to hit the 'great car for the money' category....

Thats how I ended up with the GT, I went to buy an 04 Gallardo with 4k miles, 6spd, silver/black for $135ish, but I know if I bought the car it would be at $110 in a few months... I got my GT at sticker and was so happy after the test drive, I didn't care what its was going to be worth later.
