Hello everybody… I’m a proud new owner of a 2005 Red Ford GT with 878 miles. I put 100 miles on my car last week. I’m in heaven. Great car!

My local tire store manager found a GT owner that said these tires fit:

Bridestone Potenza
F: 265/40R18
R: 345/35R19

I ordered them. I will confirm when I get them installed.

Does anybody have experience and know if they will fit?
They fit perfectly.

Yes, they fit. No, they won't rub. Yes, they ride better than the Goodyears. Yes they are quieter and have better grip.

Until something better comes along, they are the tire to use.

Yup, fit perfect. Ordered mine from Amazon… arrived and had local mobile installer do the work.

Am I wrong with this, but I think this will mean your odometer is going to show about 5% more miles than you have actually driven based on the rear tires being 11 mm (about 0.4 inches) smaller than the original tires.

Since I think most all of us that are driving their '05/'06 GTs are running the Potenza's, then all our mileage will be relatively equal.

And yes, have enjoyed a couple sets of these. I think they are better in all respects than the OEM option.

I don't think there are any other choices anyway, at least we never see any on this forum ... unless you're willing to change wheel sizes.

Couldn’t pay me to go back to the GoodYears. Yes, the Bridgestones are that much better.

extra miles (4%) are a small price to pay for a tire better in every regard.

4% is calculated using published revolutions per mile. 728 for the Bridgestone, 699 for the Goodyear.

Is there a way to recalibrate the speedometer?

@tmcphail should know the answer to that.

I know you can do that in a 2006 F350

The diameter of the 315/40-19 OEM Goodyear tire is 28.92".
The diameter of the 345/35-19 Bridgestone tire is 28.51".

That's a speedometer error of about 1.4%.... nothing to worry about.

The GT Guy Rich Brooks can recalibrate the tire diameter in the cars computer. But as Kendall says,it really is within the margin of error.

Keep it in perspective. I run the Bridgestones, and when my speedo says I'm going 80, I'm really around 78. The speedos had a slight positive error even with the Goodyears.

All speedometers have a margin of 2-3 mph designed into them.

And sometimes my speedo says 60 but I'm only doing 2.

In every vehicle we have, it shows faster than the actual speed.

He stated he just got all fresh build codes
