    GT in a Canadian Winter

iPhone SE of all things, without any photoshopping. Wasn't really expecting to exit the car (brrr..) let alone take any pictures, but it was just too nice of a morning.

60 miles east of you. I think I may have seen you drive in the Hat. No stripes on you? Perhaps PM me and we'll meet up with the cars for a coffee.

    GT in a Canadian Winter

Amen. It kills me evey time and usually doubles the time required for any trip. I have been thinking about buying some farm land along the highway, just to build a garage, but then I wouldn't be able to look at it while enjoying a beer just before going to bed. :wink

    GT in a Canadian Winter

Alberta has plenty of oil, nice roads and great skiing. But the length of our winter does test the patience of car enthusiasts. I thought I would share a nice pic of a morning this winter were I could no longer wait. It was -25 degrees Celcius (so not too bad). Wishing you all an imminent...

Anyone racing in the Carrera Panamericana?

Thanks Ralphie. I do not know Shields, but believe he is driving with Carson this year, who I met at last year's Chihuahua Express. I will look him up.

Anyone racing in the Carrera Panamericana?

I will participating in the Carrera Panamericana this year. It is the annual Mexican road-race and this year it runs from Oct 22 to 28. http://www.lacarrerapanamericana.com.mx/index2.asp While it isn’t exactly an event that lends itself to the FGT (our wheels are from ‘66), I thought I would...

    Porsche Cayman

It is a car I highly recommend and not just for spouses, provided it is the "S". While its rep is either "girl's Porsche" or "poor man's 911", it is in my opinion not justified. I have the Boxster S which is basically the same car and the cost:fun ratio is off the charts. I track mine...

Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari, and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans

AJ, thank you for a wonderful book. Your writing style made it enjoyable for gear-heads and non-enthusiasts alike. If there is a movie, I hope that the actors do justice to both a great a book and also the great legends that feature so prominently in it. An unexpected side benefit: even my...

Breaking in a GT - Q from soon to be owner

Thank you all for the advice. I am located in Toronto but the car will eventually follow me to the dry climes of Alberta (in a trailer...). I look forward to navigating my way around the site. Thanks again. Cheers

Breaking in a GT - Q from soon to be owner

Hi all, New member, still a little ignorant, but in love with the GT... Just put down a deposit on a 2006 GT here in Canada and will be inspecting it tomorrow. It is being sold by a non-Ford dealer and 160 miles on it. I expect to take delivery the following weekend. A couple of questions...
