  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: A/C blows hot then cold

The summer here in Alberta has been perfect for the last few weeks...85-90 degrees and unusually humid. I haven't been able to enjoy the gt in the heat of the day though as the A/C alternates between ice cold and smoking hot :ack. I've scanned the search results but have come up empty handed. We...

  2. Sticky Thread Sticky: Technical / Detail Photos

Guys, I have often wished for a thread full of detailed photos to assist me in disassembling or reassembling some part of the FGT. Please post your Photos with a brief description of the content! I'll start with some detail shots of the McIntosh head unit -

  3. Sticky Thread Sticky: GT Guys - A Visit To The Greater Boston Area

To All Boston Area GT Owners, I've been speaking with Roketman about the possibility of having the GT Guys visit the Boston area in the Spring of 2011 to spend a couple/few days servicing our cars. Ron has very kindly offered his garage, which has two lifts, as a place to have the work done (he...

  2. Trailering advice pls

The gentleman who sold me my trailer advised leaving the trans in gear and e-brake off while tying the car down and while towing. I didn't have a chance to get a rationale for this. What do the experts here say?

  3. Most trivial tech question ever?

Did a search, didn't see anything. Those four little plastic clips that hold the front storage area tub in place.....they seem like they want to perform like a Dzus, but for the life of me they just seem ridiculous. They tighten, and then loosen, and then tighten.....but they never hit a stop. ...

  4. GT Guys - Dallas and Houston - Any Interest????

Hello Texas GT owners, I just hung up with Rich and he said there are no current plans to come to Texas, but if there is any interest perhaps we can get something planned. I know there are a few things I would like them to do on my GT here in Dallas. Rich also said that there were a few...

  5. Location of engine cooling fan temperature sensor

I'm curious about how the radiator cooling fans actually are controlled and when they operate. From the manuals, it seems that the controlling temperature sensor is on the right front of the motor. If that's correct, the fans might be controlled by the temperature of the coolant in the motor...

  6. Engine Temp Gauge Died

I think this is my 4th or 5th gauge I've had to replace. Yes, been on a battery tender for years. Anyone have an "excellent" condition gauge they want to sell? Anyone know what the price is for a new one? Thanks.

  7. ABS computer and CAN BUS link to ECU

Does anyone on the Forum have a working knowledge of the FORD GT ABS system and if some messages sent by the ABS through the CAN BUS to the ECU can be ignored by software modification at the ECU. I am also wondering if the ABS computer can be reprogrammed to alter acceptable tone wheel frequency...

  8. Engine bay lighting kit...done!

Thanks to jcthorne for his support. :cheers I'm always amazed when I wire something and it works. Thanks to the others who responded to my earlier thread on locating a power source. There are many ways to get to power other than the way I went.

  9. Enjoy them while they're young

Seems like fresh brakes grow old so fast these days, it's important to take a moment and enjoy them while you can. (another meaningless post)

  10. Pick it out

Hot weather coming. GT's run hot by nature, especially if you've stepped up the horse power. One easy way to stay ahead of cooling problems is to pick the rocks and bugs out of your forward heat exchanger. The GT has a stack of three units, the engine radiator is the third one back, so when air...

  12. Differences in Ford Racing Short Shifter Kits?

Were there any design changes made with the Ford Racing short shifter kit? Trying hard to troubleshoot a problem. First pic shows the tight clearance between the metal arm and the underside of the console in 5th and 6th gear. 2nd-4th pics show a different car with a short shifter. Note the brass...

  14. Temperature gauge removal

Gents, As I recently posted, after some spaz inadvertently drained my battery (....me) - my temp gauge died. I recharged battery - no luck. Tried a new battery - no luck. I recently bought a new gauge amd have a pal who can help swap them. Anyone have real world instructions or tips on how...

  15. Hood insulation

Has anyone ever insulated the hood so it doesn't heat the luggage compartment (such as it is)? I can't find any posts about doing it. Looking forward to driving to the Rally, I checked the underside of the hood after driving 60 miles and (as advertised) it was HOT. It appears to me that a layer...

  16. Control arm bushing

I could find no previous thread on this, but my rear lower control arm bushings (swing arm) at the knuckle end are starting to unravel. Anybody had issues with theirs? 17. Child seat bracket removal

Are there any problems or special knowledge required in removing the child seat bracket behind the passenger seat? Looks like it only takes two socket heads (no nuts) and it's gone. Thanks!

  18. Lug Nut Lunacy

While doing a suspension detail on the car for a show, I pulled all 4 wheels, only to find my Ford shop had rather aggressively tightened my right front wheel to the point that the wrench slightly collapsed two of the lugs. I've searched threads on lug nuts until I can't see, and have found...

  19. 930shark's 4.2LC Kenne Bell build

Dave has been on me to get some pics up, so here it goes..... Some of you may remember shark's build from last lear that included a complete L&M custom built engine and a 4.0L Whipple. The car made really good power on the 4.0L (1146 iirc), but in the search for more power (and something...

  20. Oil Pump Belt

I have searched and read numerous threads about this. I thought this would be a pretty straight forward belt swap, but after reading around here I am a little worried. Does anyone have a step by step "how to" on swapping out the belt? The main concern I have from reading on the forum is the...
