How are those wheels and tires working out for you? Can you make a comparision between the stock set up and yours. They look great.

Bony,

I mounted my Ohlins suspension at the same time as the wheels, so I can't really compare them to the standard wheels...

But I do have one stiff ride, thats for sure...

Stefan,

I was great fun - just a shame that some Swedish taxi driver "parked" his big Volvo in the fastlane, otherwise I would have maxed her out bigtime... ha ha.

The 101 cars have the same dials as the US cars....

Jason,
Obviously as a racer I hold you in high regard. Can you guesstimate the difference the wheel package alone made? Is there more than a great visual improvement? Thanks!

Bony,
I would say that the wheels are just for looks... They are heavier than stock, and also the 315/30-22 rear tire is actually a SUV tire... (Y rated for 300 Km/h).

The feel with the lower profile tire will alway be more stiffer and direct, but I can't wait for a sunny day and give my Hoosires a blast round the track - That will ROCK!!!

I have delete cat headers with the standard Euro mufler. It gives the GT a wonderfull blowing sound...

Bony,
usually the lower profile in the front makes the car communicate more through the steering wheel (which is not one of the GT strengths), and, importantly, decrease the tendency for understeer with better profile loading in sideforce situation when steering in creating side gravity pull (on your cheeks).
generally a stiffer, more precise pointy ride.
The SUV (higher bed) profile at the back be tendencially harder rubber mix with less tendency to hold the tail and avoid oversteer swing outs, will last longer in street burnout situations, but be less sticky and give lesser grip generally.

You can of course then work on the setup, with camber and toe in regulations to optimize.
The adjustable (active(?)) Ohlins will give better grip in bumpy rides, with lesser body rock. most likely the car sits lower in the suspensions, then you have less leaning in curves on a track (or street) and a resulting improvement of steer-in situations that is really the good part and makes you faster around the track.

racer stuff...

Hello Stefan and Jason,
Ok, the look is great, really makes the GT. However, is there any performance advantage over stock?? I am waiting for better rubber to come out. Sorry for the cross examination.
